2024 Holiday Destinations
As we’re well into the New Year our minds are already starting to ponder ‘where would I like to go on holiday to escape from the day to day’. Here’s a list of places that I’ve been to, are highly recommended personally or I’m scheduled to go to. I’ve highlighted a list of places I think would be amazing to go to, but haven’t yet been. For the long haul places that may even require indirect flights, my fiancé and I are starting to look at visiting a different place for every trip, that we wouldn’t otherwise visit due to the distance but would be amazing. Such as when we’re planning to go to The Phillippines we’re looking to stop off in Hong Kong for one day, and when we go to Mexico we’re looking at stopping off in Dallas - I genuinely cannot wait to go to the rodeo!!!
Abu Dhabi - Saadiyat Island, Qasr Al Sarab (for that desert experience), Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental for potentially the largest hotel you’ve ever been to in your life!
Africa Safari - enjoy the animals and be in a place like no other, the Serengeti Four Seasons offers an unparalleled experience with views over the water hole where the animals gather. However, if the prospect of going on a propeller plane or long 4 hour drive scares you, stick to the Kruger National Park Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge
France - Hotel Cap du Ferrat, Antibes Eden Roc, Lily of the Valley wellness resort
Greece - One & Only, W Costa Navarino
Maldives - Soneva Jani, Soneva Fushi. The Nautilus, Joali Being - if you have the budget, I’d do a few days at Joali Being (a wellness retreat) and then The Nautilus. Whilst The St Regent and the Waldorf Astoria are the nicest hotels, they’re made from man-made islands. Having flown over an island being built, and seeing the damage myself to the beautiful landscape and hearing from the marine biologists about the impact on the wildlife, I quite simply can’t recommend it with the environmental impact (whilst I would so love to go! I blame my annoying principles)
Mexico - La Valise, Tulum. Cabo: Las Ventanas al Parisio (Rosewood), Esperanza (Auberge), One & Only, The Resort at Pedregal (Waldorf Astoria) - a lot of the Cabo hotels are super built up resorts, whilst still built up these are more sympathetic resort to the local area. From the UK is is quite difficult to get to if you also want to see the Mayan temples etc. However if you are in America and would like a luxury get away it’s worth the extra flight and extra couple of days for this luxury paradise.
Marrakech - La Mamounia - you bet this is the one they filmed Anna Delvey at!
Monaco - Hotel du Paris
Philippines - With the feel of the Maldives, island hop, but for a fraction of the cost - Amanpulo (Pamalican Island), El Nido, Shangri La Boracay
Places I am desperate to go to:
Bali
Mustique
Eden Roc, Saint Barths
Costa Rica
