Get a ‘Cribs’ fridge without the expense of containers

I’ve seen everywhere these fridge organisation boxes, now don’t get me wrong, I love it and I’m personally desperate for it. However, sometimes I change my food shop, so I idon’thave everything in the same space each week, but mainly we’re getting a kitchen renovation in a couple of years, so I don’t want to spend fortunes on tupperwear that won’t fit my new fridge freezer.

However I still want the look.

It really is as simple as pretending you have the containers in your friend already, and your home ends up like a shop. So, I have a drawer for salad and vegetables, I have a bottom shelf for fruit, a shelf for meat, and a shelf for dairy, then the top shelf is for backstock items such as additional milk and smoothies.

I then put each item next to each other, so chicken will go in a line in date order (next expiry date at the front, the beef mince will be placed next to the chicken. Repeat for each item in each section and voila! You have an organised fridge without needing the expense of the container. It’s easier to find things and easy to put them back, along with being aesthetically beautiful. If you do get containers, you also know what size to measure up in the future!

Pro tip: do a weekly home delivery food shop and re-organise your fridge every time it comes, that way you know you’re on top of the organisation and the contents of your fridge.
